An oasis of calm at a high altitude

We were privileged to design an exceptional 250 m² new-build flat on the 22nd floor together with fellow interior architect Mieke Smet. The client purchased the flat as a shell, giving us the freedom to create a complete design from scratch.

Inspired by the panoramic 360° view of the city and its surroundings, we opted for an open-plan layout. Ceiling-high windows bring the landscape into every room. By following the route along the outer façade, you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama from anywhere.

We opted for warm materials and soft tones, combined with bespoke craftsmanship of the highest calibre. Joinery plays a leading role in this, subtly forming the boundaries between living spaces. Techniques such as air conditioning, ventilation and audio are completely concealed, as are storage spaces and door frames.

Lighting enhances the architectural design. Recessed luminaires in the ceiling strips create an atmosphere and define the spatial zones. The lighting has also been coordinated with the residents’ art collection, which has been elegantly integrated and highlighted.

Implementing this design required close collaboration between contractors and craftsmen, with every detail needing to fit together perfectly.

The materials used play a crucial role in creating an ambience of sophistication. The cabinet fronts are covered in textile wallpaper from CMO Paris and feature high-gloss lacquer and mirror accents to create a sense of depth and reflection. The Hungarian point parquet adds warmth and elegance. A massive sink and lavabo tablet made of natural stone Breccia Botticelli was incorporated into the guest toilet, adding a sculptural accent. Bisazza mosaics, Cesi tiles, Lithoss switchgear and Vervloet’s refined ‘Pebble’ fittings complete the look.

The result is a harmonious living environment designed for tranquility, beauty and experience.
